Runningbird is the spitting image of health. He is very lean, and works hard to keep himself that way. His parents named him for his longlegs, perceiving he would be the fastest warrior in Shadowclan. They weren’t disappointed. His long legs, and long body make him very agile. His long tail, through much practice as an apprentice, has come in handy. On his tail are smoky-grey rings, covering his long body are spots, mixed with stripes that go down the spine. His under belly is creamy-white. The only thing different about him is how soft his pelt is. It is a little longer. But he’s thankful for it in the winter, never the less. His claws are long, and used to give him traction when he runs. He is light on his paws, and though he still needs more practice, he makes almost no sound in the forest when he’s focused. PERSONALITY | 320 - Calm, Cool, and collected. Runningbird prides himself on being calm, cool, and very put together. When faced with a crisis, he is more than likely one of the cats that wants to help solve the problem instead of sitting around shrugging his shoulders all day, and never getting anything done. When he’s training, he also likes that his apprentice be focused on the task at hand, instead of day-dreaming about chasing squirrels into Thunderclan territory. - Quiet. Although Runningbird is a cat of action, he almost never speaks. This has caused his voice to be very soft, and even when he’s agitated by something (or someone) and he raises his voice, it isn’t very loud. He prefers exchanging words in privet, or even in secret. It’s a wonder this tom hasn’t caught the attention of a she-cat from another clan! His quietness has also inspired his favorite hunting technique, making one of the best hunters in the clan. - Understanding. Being very quiet, Runningbird is a listener. And even if he doesn’t understand fully what someone is going through, he tries his best to try. Offering words of sound advice, and often trying to take the other cats mind of things if the subject is too gloomy to be spoken of. He doesn’t have a since of humor, but when another cat laughs at what he said, he takes it as a victory that he is one step closer to finding out the meaning of humor. - Attentive. Very observant of his surroundings, always listening to the sounds of the forest. This is why he is mostly used as the camp guard, because even though he doesn’t always know when someone is coming, he is usually the first to hear it. He puts everything he’s got into what he’s doing (whither it is hunting, fighting, or standing guard) he treats it as if his own life depended on it. HISTORY | 395 Runningkit. As a kit, growing up was rather easy. He spent of his time in the nursery being fed by his mother Willowbriar, and watched over by his father, Pinestep. Both were loving parents. Having only one brother, Rowankit, as a sibling made Runningkit feel accepted in his clan. No one knows why, but he loved his brother, and they did everything together! From playing with the other apprentices, to being naughty and wandering about Shadowclan territory! All this took place before Scourge. The only thing Runningbird can remember from his kit-hood are the good times he had with most of his clan-mates, now long gone, or leading lives of their own. Runningpaw. Six moons had gone by, and Runningkit was now Runningpaw. His mentor, Dusksky, taught him everything he knows now. Often times there would be cats from bloodclan watching him and his brother practice. The only thing he didn’t enjoy is when the Bloodclaners made them fight each other. It wasn’t his idea of fun, but Rowanpaw seemed to like the idea, and eventually Runningpaw got the idea that maybe Rowanpaw had always tried to one-up him in everything. Eventually Runningpaw caught on, and tried to think of it as a game that they would play as if they were kits. It all came to a screeching end when he realized that Rowanpaw was actually trying to kill him at one point. Then, the Bloodclaners stopped coming, and everything seemed to go back to normal. Runningbird. Finally it was time to be made a warrior. Runningpaw, just as excited as Rowanpaw, stepped up to their warrior names. Runningpaw had now become Runningbird, and Rowanpaw was about to be named Rowanstorm, when Bloodclan came to the ceremony telling them that Rowan would be named Rowan, and would be going with them back to the city. The newly named Runningbird was horrified at having his brother taken from him, but when he looked at Rowan, he had a prideful look on his face, as if… he wanted to go. It gave Runningbird enough reason to hate Bloodclan. His brother went away, tail high and proud, as if leaving Runningbird behind was the best thing in the whole wide world! After the episode, Runningbird became the quiet one of the camp, but ever since then he also has put his all into serving his clan faithfully. [/style] |
