Questions about BloodClan
Q- So, what is the normal BloodClan cat’s life like?
A- Warriors, just like in normal clans go out to hunt for the leaders, elders, Queens and kits. She-cats are allowed to hunt for themselves if they do not have kits, and any cat may go see the healer or medicine cat if they are in the clans. Apprentices are given mentors by the leader of their clan like in the old days, she-cats are only trained to hunt and learn few defensive moves though, while toms are trained as full warriors.
Q- So, what’s up with this betrothal business?
A- The Betrothals are a way to ensure strong cats, or a strong cat and beautiful cat will breed and get the best kits for Bloodclan; this was started to further Bloodclan lines, and remove the warrior bloodlines. Once a month the Healer of Bloodclan and perhaps the Deputy of Bloodclan go to each clan, meet with the leader, deputy and medicine cat and look at all kits and apprentices. The queens bring their kits to the center of camp and apprentices meet there as well, the Healer will examine each and determine if any are to be betrothed and to whom. Betrothals cannot be undone unless a more suitable mate arises and the Healer agrees to it or one of the betrothed dies. Once the she-cats reach 12 moons they will move to their betrothed's clan and live with them there, the Healer does their best to ensure one clan does not have more cats than another clan.
Q- So, how are outsiders viewed?
A- If an outsider comes onto BloodClan territory, and they are not of Bloodclan they are driven out. If they are a rogue or loner, they may be invited into the camp if they are shown to have some skill or beauty Bloodclan may want, however this is generally pretty rare. The clan will work together to remove any threats, cats, foxes, badgers whatever.
